My LAST Premed Advice Video
Excellent Physician is Priority #1
Rounding out my Premed Advice series
So, I uploaded what I think is my last premed advice video. It has been fun these last 5 years sharing my journey and helping a ton of you out trying to get into medical school as well as tackle medical school, but I want to move on.
This video goes over GPA, MCAT, and how EC’s impact acceptance “percent.” Looking at it through a pure MCAT + GPA trend as many students do I would only have a 21.2% chance today. Even the highest of MCAT and GPA have a hard time getting over 50% and I want you all to learn how to look at this Data.
I am not sure what content I want to make next on YouTube. My gut instinct is to create Residency VLOGs as I have time to record, edit and upload. I also want to create more lifestyle content and move away from Medicine. It has consumed my life for more than half my life at this point and will continue to do so but I also do like things outside of medicine. (I think)
My number one priority will be to become the best physician I can for my patients. YouTube has been a huge hobby for me, and I enjoy making them for you all and interacting in the comments, receiving emails, reading the messages I get occasionally, and lately learning to edit the videos more has been really fun.
Below is an image where I had one of the most rewarding days of my life on my Sub-Internship where I delivered 2 babies and discharged 4 patients. I keep going back to look at this picture because I was really proud of the work I was doing and pushing through an upset stomach (hence the hand on my tummy")
This next month is going to be spent working on creating a good routine for myself healthwise, timewise and prepare to move away from Family for the first time. I will admit that moving away was 100% my intention as I feel like I have gotten too comfortable with my home institution and the BEST way for me to become excellent is by leaving my mentors that I feel may shield me from "constructive criticism” due to the long relationship I have with so many of them.

Thank you all for being a part of this newsletter that I 100% enjoy more than creating YouTube videos. It feels like a journal where I know I can get feedback, kind of like Tom Riddle’s Diary. IYKYK.
